Seaside, OR ~

My camera is still broken...Duncan says he will get me a new battery tomorrow. I hope he does!

Anyway, we went to Seaside over the weekend. The mission: school clothes for my soon to be kindergartner!

My mom LOVES the beach, so she and my dad came with us.

I love Seaside - it's a great little beach town. They have lots of shopping, restaurants, and candy!

This weekend was also the Hood to Coast Relay - so the town was packed. As a "beginning" runner, it can be intimidating to see all the runners gathered. Then you see the teams finishing together and it reminds you that though each of these runners is AMAZING...this race is a team effort. You start as a team & end as a team. It was truly amazing to watch the groups meet at the finish line & run in together.

Anyway - I shopped my fanny off & Levi is all set for school. I on the other hand, am not. I see a bunch of tears in my future --- all of them (or at least most of them) will be mine.

It was a great weekend with the family. Summer is rapidly coming to a close. It has once again gone by too fast.

Wynochee Dam

We finally got to go camping this past weekend.
We headed off to Wynochee Dam. I haven't been there in at least 15 years! (my how time flies!!!)

Of course my camera decided to die just before the trip, so no pictures.
We went with a work friend and her family (thanks Kristi, we had a blast!).

It is so relaxing to be away from technology and work.
The boys got to play in the dirt for 2 days & we got to relax & chill out.

I can't wait to go camping again!

Children of the Corn

Have you ever watched the old "horror" movies - The Children of the Corn?
I love them, however they give me a little un-easyness when it comes to children running around in the corn.

Levi, unbeknownst to him my fear, decided to scare me one day by running through the corn --- giggling & then jumping out to scare me.

It's all good though, at least he did it in the daylight!

This weekend I took the boys to see my friend Amanda and her baby girl Abigail.
Here they are in the car, so excited to be going to the park!

My camera totally died while at the park with the girls & boys, these are the only two pictures that I got:

My boys sure to like to dig in the sand!

Thanks for the play date Amanda! I can't wait for the Melting Pot in September!!!

Gamers in the making ~

Duncan has started a bad habit with the boys, one that has to be limited to about an hour once a week or so.

What is it....

That's right, sweet X-Box video games from the 80s & 90s!
Levi loves it, however he has his mama's temper & when he gets frustrated it comes out.
The X-Box gets shut off when that happens.

Alex loves to sit and watch his brother play!!!

Party Animals ~

Levi and Wyatt are party animals.
On Saturday night they played hard & were still going strong at 9:30 pm.

They are starting young.

Wyatt was looking a little on the tired side by 9:30, Levi was still going strong!

Alex is learning...

Alex is learning to eat all by himself...

Mmmm, Banana!

Watch me cram it all into my mouth!

And, get my own cup.

And then, dump it all on the floor while my brother watches!

Taking the boys shopping ~

It is always and adventure. I usually end up with stuff I don't need, junk food, random cart races, crashing due to the random cart races, and cranky kids.

This is a first for us though:

Levi has been too big for sitting in the cart for a while now, as he says "it's for babies".
For some reason on this shopping trip he was all about sitting in the cart.
Made shopping a quick trip & I didn't have to put random stuff in the cart!

Recycling

Me: Levi, may I borrow your wagon to take the cardboard over to the recycling bin at Grandmas?

Levi: No mom, I will pull it for you, you don't know how to drive it.

Me: (hmmm, the boy just offered to help me...though he insulted me in the process...you take the help when you can get it!)...Sure Levi, I'd love for you to 'show' me how to drive it!

Mom's Garden

As promised, here is my moms' garden:

Onions, broccoli, and lettuce:

Tomato plants (they are huge!!!)

Corn:

Beans:

And finally, the Zucchini that mom let me plant in her garden:

And a little Zucchini bud!

We had some of the broccoli this weekend, and it was so good. I love the fresh veggies!

Alex's Mess ~

You may remember this post.

Levi is very much an organized and non-messy boy.

Here is Alex:

He looks so happy though:

So, we let him make the mess --- he has to help clean it up!
