Busy, Busy, Busy...and a getaway

It seems that lately all I have time for is a monthly update. I can't wait for spring and summer, when the longer days allow me more time & energy to do more.

I am teaching 2 mornings a week at the Y, working out the other 3 mornings, then taking care of the kids and house, cooking, being sick, working...it never ends.

I am desperately awaiting my results of the Group Fitness Certification test that I took on February 20th. 4-6 weeks is a LONG time!

My husband and I have been working on getting a very specific travel trailer...it is hard for us to spend money, so it has to be perfect...which won't happen. Hopefully we will get what we want with in a reasonable price sometime before summer ends!

I also have been battling a mysterious ailment that caused excessive acid in my stomach & burning of my esophagus. Not fun & very scary. Still waiting on what caused this wonderful illness, and working through the discomfort.

Tomorrow I get to have the girls over for a Lia Sophia party. We will get to indulge in brownies, wine, and shiny stuff!

The boys are well, they continue to grow & doing silly things:

Duncan and I are trying to be more caring towards each other, and have come to realize after all these years, that time together is very important. We took an opportunity to get away, with just us and Thomas and Aubree. We headed off to Leavenworth.

I had never been. It is such a cute town & we had such a good time. The quite was amazing! We actually got to sit and watch a WHOLE program on the history channel...without interruptions!

The town still had its Christmas lights up, it was so beautiful!

Having a drink at the original Tumwater Inn!

It was a great trip, and we came home to our boys - happier and calmer parents.

Now, hopefully I can be a little more consistent with my blogging.

Here is to a happy spring!

Life and Stuff ~

I may not like our cold and rainy season (who would when it lasts 9 months?)...but I do love what the season brings.

Swim lessons with friends:

Levi & Wyatt at their 1st Eel Lesson!

The decorations make their way out of the boxes:

More time to spend inside, decorating and playing!

More time for the boys to rough house and play!

Time for decorating the Christmas tree:

Time for cooking and baking, with the help of my special young man:

Making of sweet treats to spoil our dinners...

The cookie plate fills up (and then quickly depletes!)...

I can deal with these dreary weekends, know that finally rest will come. I can cherish this time with the boys, as each year passes it is one less year I have with them. How soon they will be grown and out on their own.

I can enjoy snuggling on the couch with my hubby. Finally getting the chance to watch those movies that have been sitting on the counter.

Most of all, this season will pass and the warm sunshine of Summer will be back upon us. These days gives us time to think up all the things to do come Summer time.

Happy Winter!

The Goodness of a Sunny Day

Here is Duncan's "mini" garden. The big garden is next door at mom's & is where all the corn, beans, tomatoes, etc are planted. This year Duncan made this cute raised bed and decided to plant a few things.

I love coming home ~

To This:

My hubby had the day off and being the wonderful boy that he is, he mowed the lawn! Also, Mr. Handyman Duncan planted me some flowers (note the new flower pot) & built a flower wall screen thing (not really sure what it is called). He is going to grow green things up the polls and across the wires, thus hiding the satellite dish! Can we just forget about the dirty dishes from Wednesday night?...he has definitely made up for them!

Oh, also - the beautiful, wonderful sun that is peeking through the trees.
I feel spring coming, welcome spring.

I hear this weekend is supposed to be sunny! Maybe I won't be able to get to my mom's curtain after all!

My Hubby ~

I love my husband. We have known each other since 7th Grade (wow almost 20 years now), we have been together for 14 years, and married for almost 10 years. There is a lot of history, and a lot of love.

That is why I try to forgive this:

He did make dinner and watched the baby last night so I could work out...and this morning he delivered me some of this:

My life blood & what gets me moving in the morning ~

He is such a wonderful man, and good father...so a few dirty dishes & food left out all night can be forgiven.
Plus he takes me on vacations where we enjoy the fun, sun, and drinks:

Valentine's Day (week!) Cruise:

I love you hubby, and I work really hard to not yell and be upset when my kitchen is left dirty. A clean kitchen makes me want to do this for you:

Yummy homemade asparagus quiche or make something else that is equally yummy.

It's Thursday and I can't wait for the weekend. I get to go to the Gym and then shop with Cousin Sally. Then I get to cook, bake, play with the kids, and make my mommy a curtain for her spare bedroom. It's supposed to rain this weekend, so good thing I planned some inside activities.

Hope your week is going good!
